Torres Media Group is proud to announce that 102.7 WOW FM in Kingston, Ontario is now an

affiliate of the SkyWords Traffic Network. The station which was recently rebranded after

being purchased by MY Broadcasting Corp. features mornings with Big G and Matty and local

information and programming including being home to the Kingston Frontenacs.

“We are pleased to have 102.7 WOW FM on our network to provide them with valuable and

time saving information on the 401 corridor through Kingston. With traffic volume on the 401

increasing and due to the nature of Lake effect snow in the winter, up to date traffic

information is vital to Kingston listeners. The addition of this affiliate fills a gap in our network

which now provides traffic information across the province.” said Ed Torres, Group CEO.

Torres Media Group is an independent broadcaster that operates 3 FM radio stations in

Ontario, and one in Valleyfield, Quebec and Canada’s largest radio network, SkyWords Traffic

Torres Media Group is proud to announce that Roxanne Guerin has been selected by the

Ontario Association of Broadcasters to appear on behalf of the association at the CRTC

hearing into modernizing the Canadian Broadcasting Sector. The hearing began on November

20 th and has heard from multiple presenters as the CRTC grapples with the question of how to

bring foreign online streamers into the Canadian Broadcast System

“We are pleased to have Roxanne appear before the CRTC to make our point that foreign

owned streaming companies have been profiting from unregulated access to the Canadian

and Quebec markets, siphoning advertising revenue and audiences without making financial

contributions to our system and culture” said Ed Torres, Group CEO.

Roxanne Guerin adds, “I’m proud to take this very important message to the CRTC. Radio

stations are of extreme importance to the communities we serve. We provide News and

emergency information at critical times, but we also support our communities through fund

raisers such as the radiothon for the hospital, the media foodbank drive and many other local

charities. The online streaming companies don’t do any of that outreach.”

Torres Media Group is an independent broadcaster that operates 3 FM radio stations in

Ontario, and one in Valleyfield, Quebec.
